Fargoth's Hiding Place is the best quest in the game...

    Posted: 18 Jun 2020 11:42 AM PDT

...And it basically sets you up to be disappointed with every fetch/escort quest that comes afterward. Its one of the first quests any new character will do, and it is unlike any quest that comes after it. There is clandestine spying, a time of day trigger, it takes place in the middle of a town, & its the most scripting you'll see on an NPC outside of combat. Seriously, have you seen another NPC crouch & sneak anywhere else in this game?

I really wonder if Bethesda made this quest first, and thought "shit, that took forever to script, no more quests like that".

edit: As some people pointed out, Tribunal has some good unique quests with npc's doing cool scripted stuff. And also with my newest character I just did the Galbedir fake soul gem quest, which has some unique scripted npc action. So I guess I don't really know what I'm talking about. Morrowind is awesome.

Loving the quest design, had a highlight today (First Blind playthrough)

    Posted: 18 Jun 2020 06:39 PM PDT

So I joined the Imperial legion, and the 2nd or 3rd quest Darius sends you on is to rescue a tax collector from a tower a shut-in lives in. I go in and fight a few rats. I think "ok rat infested place, guys dead, tax collecter is a coward and got herself stuck.". Then i find 2 Skeletons and think "whoops nope he's a low level necromancer".

Went up some stairs and was greeted by an Alligator Demon (Daedroth?) and had to bonk him on the head. Now I'm thinking "Ok so maybe he's not a total pussy better prepare." Drank some Sujamma and a Fatigue potion and went up to greet him in a drunken rage.

Nah dude. All that and he hands me the cell key with the only condition being that I leave him to commit tax evasion in peace. Thats almost exactly what he said. I rescued the collector and we skipped happily back to the fort, not questioning the resurrected corpses, high level demon summoning, or rat infestation.

Good thing too as apparently killing him breaks the Main Quest. Who would've thought?

(Another minor highlight was a woman asking me to escort her to a shrine in 2 days for 100 gold, getting bored and killing her only to collect 500 septims from the body. Nice.)

Can’t move further in the main quest line

    Posted: 18 Jun 2020 03:33 PM PDT

I've been named nerevarine by all tribes and hortator by all houses but when I talk to Danso Indules she says " no, didn't you read the note? Until you are named hortator by the three houses and nerevarine by the four tribes, there is no point in discussing your claims. Now... go away before someone sees us talking." Can someone please help me know what I did wrong?

What's the best way to make a mage build Viable?

    Posted: 18 Jun 2020 06:19 PM PDT

So I just got into Morrowind a couple weeks ago and I already adore it but the from what I understand (which isn't much) is that Magicka doesn't regenerate unless you sleep which leaves me with the question of how would you even go about making a mage build? After plenty of minor 10 minutes build tests I manage to lock myself down with an enchanting khajiit (because the second I run out of Charge I book it like the spineless coward I am (insert scaredy cat pun here)) build which lets me get closest to what I'm looking for in a mage build but I want to try a true mages build but I'm unsure how to go about that. Please hold my hand on this because like I said I'm new and completely clueless. Thanks in advance!

Help me fix Morrowind! (first time playing)

    Posted: 18 Jun 2020 05:39 PM PDT

So I finally bought Morrowind after hearing a lot about it! I've been playing Oblivion and Skyrim for a few years now, and now its time for Morrowind. However... I know that its a bit broken and needs some fanmade patches to get it working 100% properly (or almost), just like Oblivion and Skyrim, but since I don't really know a lot about Morrowind, I'm not sure on what to install. Which patches should I use? Keep in mind that I don't really care about improved graphics or anything, I just want to fix bugs and stop the game from bamboozling me all of a sudden.

Should I buy Morrowind on Steam or continue with the disk version?

    Posted: 18 Jun 2020 02:20 PM PDT

I do enjoy having Morrowind on disk along with the expansions, I install Morrowind on every PC I have just to have something to play on my downtime if I need to travel for work. I may buy Morrowind on Steam but I'm not sure if theres any actual pros that I couldn't get by adding it as a non-steam game.

Sorry if this is all coming across as hard to read, I'm about to pass out from exhaustion.

    New Player - mods?

    Posted: 18 Jun 2020 04:23 PM PDT

I'm considering grabbing the game while the Steam sale is going on and I'm looking for some mod advice. I want to play it as vanilla as possible for my first go, though I am interested in an expansion delay. Is there a specific delay mod you guys recommend? Also I've heard a little about OpenMW, but I don't quite understand how that works. If someone could shed some light on that that would be cool. I'm very new to modding in general, so the whole process isn't apparent to me. Thanks!

Edit: I know a lot of people ask about mods, thanks to everyone who keeps answering the same questions lol.
