The 2020 Morrowind May Modathon Modding Competition is Officially Over - 229 New Mods Released! Posted: 04 Jun 2020 03:35 AM PDT The sixth annual Morrowind May Modathon Month Modding Competition, celebrating Morrowind's 18th anniversary, is officially over! Once again this year, modders have released hundreds of new mods for this year's competition, and although we didn't break last year's record, there's still quite a bit to check out here! Overall, some 229 mods were released for the 2020 Modathon by about 73 different modders, a massive amount of content that comes really close to breaking the record of 241 mods submitted last year, but just falling a bit short! Despite that slight dip in competition entries though, the month of May still ended up being the most active month for the Morrowind Modding Community since 2005, with the Nexus reporting 331 new mods overall, and our personal monthly mod tracker counting 301 new mods in May (the adjusted number comes after combining some of the more questionable mod releases last month). Using the adjusted number, that brings us to a grand total of 660 new mods released in 2020 so far! In just six months, the community has released more mods than all of 2017 combined, and we've very nearly surpassed the numbers for 2018 as well! But anyway, there's a ton of exciting mods that have been released for the 2020 Modathon here, with dozens of new gameplay features, countless new dungeons to fight through, new quests and adventures to go on, new player homes to move into, graphical replacers to install, and even a few new landmass mods to expand your game! With so many new mods, our modding community has once again added countless hours of new content to this 18-year old game, with modders old and new paving the way for new adventures to go on! Even after all these years, our modding community continues to thrive, and there can only be more bright things ahead! As always though, we do have a full breakdown of all the submitted mods down below, organized by mod category! There's also a list of our random-drawing winners down below as well, and we ended up having about 35 random-drawing winners for this year's competition! Real quick, before we get to our breakdown here, I would like to announce that the first ever 2020 Summer Modjam, a 48-hour modding event where modders will have to try and build a mod in two-days time, will be hosted July 11th-12th! Great House Dagoth Mod? Posted: 04 Jun 2020 01:13 PM PDT So I have some questions regarding the mod, the Great House Dagoth, so if anybody out there can maybe answer, that would be great because it's hard to find the info. I've heard there is a character transformation that changes your appearance and prevents you from strafing? Is this permanent? If it's only for a few quests then I can revert to my old appearance, then it's not a big deal. If it's permanent I'm definitely going to skip the mod. I read at some point there is some sort of bug, where you should wait a certain amount right when you contract corprus, or you need to restart the game before doing something, or it breaks the game. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? I read it once, and now I cannot seem to find it anywhere. Maybe it got fixed. I've generally heard it's pretty buggy. Is it worth it? I've had it loaded from the beginning on a character/save that I would rather not "ruin" with any gamebreaking bugs. The character is like level 30 now, and I figured it might be time to finally take a shot at it, but I'm obviously apprehensive about the 3 questions I have. Looking to make a Dunmer Mercenary/Spellsword build, any tips? Posted: 04 Jun 2020 11:42 AM PDT I just managed to finally reinstall Morrowind and mod it to my satisfaction (Basically Morrowind Rebirth + a chargen mod and a few graphic mods and patches), and I'm looking to make a new build for this playthrough. I was thinking of RPing as a morally grey Dunmer Mercenary who travels Vvardenfell basically as a hired sword, only to eventually find out he's the Nerevarine. He primary uses a sword and shield, but has moderate magic skills in the event he needs them (Protection, healing, levitation, etc), as well as skills in security and stealth in the event he's hired to assassinate or steal from someone. I was thinking of investing skills in Long blade, short blade, marksman as combat skills, destruction, restoration, and alteration as magic skills, and then security, speechcraft, and Medium armor as the other skills.
