I drew my nerevarine wearing different outfits depending on her location or what she's doing.

Voice acting was a mistake for the elder scrolls series.

I've been playing morrowind for the last few months so I thought I'd go back to skyrim for a while, I remember why I quit playing it now...

Nobody ever shuts up! Seriously try to play the college of winter hold quest in skyrim, it's mostly just listening to people talk at you. In Morrowind I can just speed read something if I want to get the jist of it quickly. In skyrim you either got to skip it or listen to the whole thing. It totally ruins the replayability of it.

    Roleplay magic

    Posted: 18 Dec 2019 08:29 AM PST

What custom spells with roleplay elements do you all use? As example, my mage apprentice as a Winning Smile (5s,+50 personality). That is, when she smiles at people they just want to help the poor, cute little mage. Who could say no to such a smile?

Not big, game breaking, not immersion breaking. What others do you fine people use?

Ive updated a 15 year old player home!

    Posted: 18 Dec 2019 01:41 PM PST

Back in 2004 I was a huge nerd. I made a player home, which was okay, but full of spelling errors and GMSTs. Many years later, I thought it lost forever. Then I found it again on Morrowind Modding History.

Well, Ive caught the Morrowind modding bug again, and had to update it. You can find it here

    https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/47401

Hopefully some of you will like it.

    Thanks.

Did the destruction of the Heart of Lorkhan enable people to just magically teleport anywhere not indoors and a string sense of direction?

Did the character designer/animator know what a human being was?

    Posted: 19 Dec 2019 01:43 AM PST

Something that has ALWAYS bugged me about this game were the ridiculous character models and animations. What the hell are with those proportions? Why the hell are the legs so damn long? How do you even fuck up proportions as a character modeller or whatever? Also I sincerely hope they fired the animator after this game or at least got them some lessons because wow, what the fuck. These animations still bother me today. The stupid walk, the tippy-toe run, the beast races animations in general, the spear attacks, the absolutely AWFUL sneaking animation, etc, and the general glitchyness of it all was almost unbearable when I first got into this game. I really don't know what purpose this post serves other than ranting, maybe I'm seeking validation, but like, does anyone have an explanation as to how this happened? Did Bethesda hire a beginner animator because they were penny-pinched? Was it nepotism? Did they just not give a shit?

What makes you feel like playing ES3

    Posted: 19 Dec 2019 01:34 AM PST

I've had and place ES3 for a long while, but halfway through playing it or just launching it, something puts me off and I get bored all of a sudden.

Hearth and House - On the Grace of Generosity and Saint Rilms.

    Posted: 19 Dec 2019 01:23 AM PST

Spoken by Anos Seloth at the Ald'ruhn Temple.

Come all and hear my words

On the Gift - the Grace of Generosity

You, who strut in expensive shirts

And weight your honour upon scales of gold,

Come, hear of the gift, and of Saints Rilms.

Long after victors against the damned Dagoth-Ur

Arrived back weary from the Mountain's depth

The People wished to bestow upon memory's face

A lasting reminder to be forever loved and kept.

"No", said the Poet-Lord, "They bore not all the burden"

"But you all as well suffered the marks and scars of war

So instead, dedicate memory to all, big or small

Who suffered the Captain's Fate inside the Mountain."

To the nobles, he looked with a frown,

Said "Like peacocks, you wear your mortal crown"

"These treasures profit not your soul

So give to hearth and home,

And place your drakes into the bowl."

To live your life like Lord Vivec said,

Under Saint Rilm's glory will you study,

She clothed not feet nor head

And Lay in the dirt and swamp so muddy

And acquainted herself with the beggars

That she may learn what it meant to have never

Enough food yet have piety in plenty

And to live on two septims a day, not twenty.

So give unto the war-torn, orphans and less fortunate

And Thank Vivec for the gift he has given.

Share freely with hearth and home

Do Not Hoard and Live All Alone.

So go, my friends and spread the word

That throughout all the land that it may be heard!

Can someone explain how CE Fortify Health/Magicka are useful at all?

    Posted: 18 Dec 2019 03:38 PM PST

Take Hortator's Belt, for instance. If you just keep it equipped at all times, it provides no bonus to anything. Your magicka is the same, the belt makes no difference (unless you equip it mid-fight for the temporary 20 mana).

Am I not understanding this correctly?

    Enchantment of Icarian flight

    Posted: 18 Dec 2019 11:07 AM PST

    Hello,

I just started this game and I am having a blast. Ive been passively reading about the games systems and it looks like enchanting, spell creating have a great potential for OP builds or fun times. So I was wondering is there a way to enchant the "Scroll of Icarian Flight" on to a weapon so that on hit it'll give the enemy 1000 points of levitation? I would really like to see this... I don't know much about enchantment or magic yet in this game, so i don't even really understand how things work yet. if anyone can explain how to get the intended effect (launching enemies into the air) if possible that would be appreciated.

    Skill experience

    Posted: 18 Dec 2019 10:25 AM PST

How does the leveling system work? How much exp do you get for each use of the skill (like 1 jump gives 1 exp if the skill is at level x)? And how do you train sneak, speechcraft and mercantile (how much do you need to barter for the skill to go up)?

I've been playing for like 3 days and I've figured out the best way to make money early game (check description)

    Posted: 18 Dec 2019 02:46 AM PST

Ra'viir, the clothier, and pawn broker sell empty soul gems, i buy them for like 5-20 gold each and i go to the egg mine near Balmora, i kill the kwama workers, which respawn regularly, and i feel the soul gems, bought the soul gems for about 20 gold, sold them back filled for about 160-200

Just spend about 30-50gold to buy a cheap weapon you have the highest skill on, about 150 for a filled petty soulgem, (from the enchantress at mages guild in balmora) and another 800 gold to enchant it with (soul trap on touch/target on 1ft for 2 seconds ) (also check the cast when strike box)

Then do the kwama egg mine thing, i filled like 5 lesser and sold them all for almost 900 gold

Penitence For Every Personage - On Redemption and the Model of Saint Aralor.

    Posted: 18 Dec 2019 02:28 AM PST

Spoken by Brother Anos Seloth at the Temple of the ALMSIVI, Balmora.

For those who have done wrong in their former life, hear my words:

"Foul criminals, wretches of the mortal planes,

Repent your misdeeds and be born anew in the ALMSIVI's love,

And like our ancestors in their hallowed tombs,

Protecting us from the danger above,

Kneel, reflect on your past shames.

With Saint Aralor's Intervention shall you transform,

As in the furnace, ingots of ebony do form,

And the hide of the guar to leather is tanned,

Follow his story of his redemption grand.

From foul wretch and criminal scum,

To the ALMSIVI's Grace this great man did come,

To show the overwhelming sorrow he did feel

In the Lady's name for pilgrimages he did kneel

And bore his pains with such venerable grace

That he pronounced that those of his race

Shall find anointment within reflected woes

If they wear them openly as they go

And face the people's arrowed words and bows

Repent your sins my brothers and sisters!

Fall not to heresy or despondency!

But pledge body, soul and mind to the ALMSIVI

and you shall find their infinite love and pity!
