Nerevarine Race Choice and Lore, Roleplaying? Posted: 20 Nov 2019 12:56 PM PST So I've played through the game a couple times, and I've been thinking about how each PC race choice would impact Dunmer society differently (spoiler: they don't like anyone), or at least public perception of the Nerevarine. What lore elements impact your choice and how do you think your Nerevarine's origin plays out with Dunmer? my thoughts go something like: (img) Grudgingly Accepted Tier:Dunmer: Obviously. You're still an outlander so you might as well be from anywhere, but it helps a bit that you look the part. It makes sense Nerevar comes back as a Dunmer to people so they're not terribly stirred that you're not from around. Filthy Outlander TierBreton, Redguard, Bosmer: I honestly can't find any huge beef between the Dunmer and these races. Like, yeah they hate you for regular reasons (weirdlookin outlander reasons) but like, man it could be so much worse in their heads. Outrageous Nonsense Tier:Imperial: So Obivously the Dunmer resent the Imperial occupation, and the wounded pride from that makes Imperials a bitter reminder. Unlike other entries in this list, however, it's not quite an ancestral hatred. Not to mention that it fits extra-well with one of the prophecies ("under the banner of the dragon" or something, which admittedly applies to the whole empire, but still). Altmer: This is an interesting one, lore-wise. Nerevar coming back as an Altmer, considering the Chimer's legendary separation form the Aldmer, the Altmer's resemblance to the Chimer, feels like either snubbing the Dunmer or even snubbing Saint Veloth. The Dunmer hate the Altmer and their superiority complexes but their conflicts are less direct and too ancient in most Dunmer's minds. Punch in the Gut TierNord: Well now we're in the territory of people the Dunmer really hate. It's kinda hard to really rank them but out of the lot I think the Nords get the most respect from the Dark Elves. Like don't get me wrong there's visceral hatreds but after centuries of wars and mutual conquest there's almost sense of worthy adversary which carries some respect. Still, your legendary savior being one of them? Cosmic Punishment TierKhajiit: I mean, goes without saying but, by going for this Azura hits the Dunmer with a big dose of divine justice. Making the Nerevarine come from what in Morrowind is a slave race will make it a a sort of cultural reckoning for the Dunmer. Orc: Religiously, the Orcs represent an existential, genetic threat to the Dunmer. They are represented in Malacath from the House of Troubles, and traditionally Orcs are quite literally unclean. Like this isn't wishy-washy Tribunal Temple belief, this is from the Old Ways™. You also gotta remember that Orcs became citizens of the Empire after the Warp in the West 10 years earlier, before that, they were monsters. Argonian: Everything that applies to Khajiit PLUS their proximity to Morrowind also makes them military rivals and there's that whole business with the invasion form Black Marsh after the Red Year. Truly, most Dunmer would be genuinely offended at the mere suggestion that the prophesied Hortator is a lizard guy or gal. [link] [comments]

So... Do items in dungeons respawn??? Posted: 20 Nov 2019 06:56 PM PST Sooooo... I'm in a crypt and I'm finding a bunch of cool stuff, like there's a ghoul heart on the floor here. Can I take these items and sell them, with the knowledge that if I need, say, a ghoul heart later... I can come back into this dungeon and get it? What happens if I just happen to loot all the ghoul hearts in all the dungeons, sell them all, and then when I need one... I'm up shit Creek? It doesn't have to be ghoul hearts, there's a lot of unique things I'm finding, and as a new (well, returning) player... I don't know what I can keep and take. And it's kinda stressing me out to be honest. Alright, thankyou [link] [comments]
Followed the pastebin guide. Did as i thought was intended. Was left with hot mess Posted: 20 Nov 2019 09:53 PM PST Im looking for some help fixing up the mods, plugind, missing files etc. so my game looks and feels as its supposed to look. I followed the pastebin 2019 guide. For the most part, i was able to follow it to the dot, although some parts left me stumped and i might have made some mistakes, but i managed to get the game to load, with couple of errors showing up (imp head one and notch one, textures missing i think, something to do with Tamriel Rebuilt? and it crashes sometimes). Now im the Seyda out of the census office, and the game looks like utter garbage(meaning, the mods didn't kick in and it seems like im playing official vanilla). Im fairly new at modding the game, first attempt, and im wondering what i did wrong. If you let me know what you need to look at to diagnose my problem, ill gladly provide it. [link] [comments]

If I start playing morrowind today, should I get Tamriel rebuilt? Posted: 20 Nov 2019 04:54 PM PST Do you think a vanilla experience would be better or with that mod? [link] [comments]
Coolest enchanted item you’ve made? Posted: 20 Nov 2019 11:18 AM PST I just took the Daedric Face of Inspiration and enchanted it to deal damage health 100 points, 50ft on target- called it 'Deplorable Countenance'. It's pretty awesome- can blow up a room of squishies with one or two casts and looks so cool. What are the best/coolest enchanted items you've made? [link] [comments]
Using two armor or weapon types in morrowind? Posted: 20 Nov 2019 10:19 AM PST Has anyone used two armor or weapon types in a playthrough? I was having trouble picking skills lastnight and was wondering how effective it would be to pick medium armor for early game and then heavy armor for late game. Is it a good way to play? Is it possible to enjoy this game without min-maxing your character? Posted: 20 Nov 2019 02:22 AM PST So first of all, I love Morrowind. I've done the main quest + expansions + all factions + plenty of random quests on like 5 different characters already. However, one thing that all those characters had in common was that, in the first 2-3 hours of the game, I raised all the skills to 100 and got max level. After that, the fun starts. Not before. Here's where the issues begin. I still feel like playing more, but don't want to do the same exact thing all over again, so I tried to make new characters with some self imposed rules, such as: no alchemy, no Creeper/Mudcrab, no influencing a merchant's prices or base gold etc. But the game has two major issues. First of all, you can't hit anything unless your weapon skill is really high. 50 Long Blade + 60 Agility = half the attacks miss, on average. At full fatigue. And secondly, the fatigue bar. It's ALWAYS EMPTY, which makes attacking and casting spells have an even worse chance of success. Waiting is obviously not possible in areas with enemies, so what are you supposed to do? Alchemy potions all over again, right...? It seems like no matter what kind of character I make, the "unholy trinity cycle" always begins after you start the game: finding out that you desperately need more skill in your weapon/spells -> finding out that the game is unplayable with a stamina bar that isn't constantly almost full -> "How do I make tons of gold for trainers and potions with my current self-imposed rules so I can start having fun?" Obviously, this brings me back to step one all over again. The need to min-max... which is what I was trying to avoid in the first place... And even if I don't min max too much, I still need to make money to train a couple of things. The whole early game revolves around making money for training and potions, no matter what kind of character you make, otherwise you'll have a miserable time. Any tips? And thanks for reading. Posted: 20 Nov 2019 07:38 AM PST Is there a mod who make skills more... useful? Skills at 100 almost don´t make anything important -but at guilds-. An examples are Enchant and Speechcraft, whose even with 100 will not work for anything. I´m asking for a mod who could make the skills useful, and worth. Do you know one? [link] [comments] |
