Best route to go in strict regard to graphic/texture mods?

    Posted: 06 Nov 2019 09:50 AM PST

So I finished up with the Thastus guide and I'm a big fan of everything except the graphic mod choices in it. Specifically the 'Morrowind Visual Pack' and many of the architecture texture mods. I find they they're rather large changes and feel very un-Vanilla, specifically the Morrowind Visual Pack. There were a few of the Architecture mods in the Thastus guide that I didn't mind but there were others that were way to different, so I'd rather not only download a few since it will look quite jarring to have certain areas with very high resolution textures and others without.

Is there a good option of upgraded textures that stay as true as possible to the look of Vanilla while still being upgraded? I'm about to give 'Morrowind Enhanced Overhaul' a shot and only enable the graphical side of things and see how it looks. Other than that, I'm not really sure where to start.

How to play though - once?

    Posted: 06 Nov 2019 09:07 AM PST

Hi. As a teenager years ago I played Morrowind, enjoying the many ways it was broken. But I broke it, and abandoned the game far to fast.

Now, as an aged parent, I want to make the attempt to play it, end to end. I'm only going to have the chance to do this once - children are....time consuming. But Morrowind is a HUGE game. What advice would the community give to get the best possible playthough, hitting as many high points as possible - but none of the lows?

Character wise, I'm thinking a jack of all trades, but that's much less important than the overall experience.

So people - what would you suggest? Where do I even start?

    Pick my mods!

I want a good but modest mod load out that can work in openmw. Also does Morrowind rebirth work with it well?

If this doesn't belong here I'm sorry :(
