I'd like to Imagine Sotha Sil never died Posted: 23 Nov 2020 08:13 PM PST I'd like to imagine Almalexia just killed his avatar and Sotha Sil just hid from her and went the way of Vivec. Maybe he joined the Nerevarine as a familiar friend. On his expedition to Akavir. Maybe he left nerevar and went to set up a new chapter of his religion to gain some power again. In a colony set up by Nerevar, maybe Nerevar set up a new kingdom maybe he became his own prophe. Maybe he became a subject of Nerevar. Also let's face it Nerevar didn't die Akavir he killed a God and a god like being and he probably just got stronger and was feared. Because he killed 2 fucking Gods and he came back after his first death for they would know he would just come back more pissed off. So he's probably just chilling setting up a new kingdom massacreing enemy combatants actually if the people who the Dunmer pray to gain some divinity and his story and life was spread. Wouldn't that make him even more powerful. If so I'd say he probably rivals the power of The Hero of Kvatch. [link] [comments]

VR: Morrowind in Proper Virtual reality (openMW port by Mads Buvik Sandvei) GREAT WORK! Posted: 23 Nov 2020 11:51 AM PST Good day all, Following my post on the vorpx version months ago (https://www.reddit.com/r/Morrowind/comments/guncox/morrowind_tamriel_rebuilt_in_vr_vorpx_with_mg_exe/) which essentially is a simple conversion into VR of the 2002 game, I recently found out that one of the members of openMW by the name of Mads Buvik Sandvei is working on a VR version, which is already quite playable. I found this footage of it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PAGnYgFnkBk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZCSqz7FcdE0&t=13s So not being able to believe it since scouring the internet for information on a port for the last year, I decided to look for more information myself leading me to the project thread here: https://gitlab.com/OpenMW/openmw/-/merge_requests/251 Having been disappointed by Morrowrift not working correctly and since having been abandoned, I didn't want to get my hopes up. Not only is he working on it, but rather regularly, and even more so, has released regular versions of it to try. You can see on this thread how to get it running and after some trouble and fiddling around, I managed to get it up and running (not difficult once you know what to do). https://www.reddit.com/r/OpenMW/comments/jzhs92/openmw_vr_branch_installation_for_testing/ So what is it and how is it the best VR port for Morrowind so far? While vorpx plays more like a big screen version of a flatscreen game, this version is closer to Skyrim VR. I tested it out just now on my Valve Index and am very impressed. Easier on the eye: -full panoramic camera -better performance than with vorpx -no motion sickness from one thumbstick constantly pushing the view out of place -fully scaled FOV so no need to constantly readjust UI: -menus updated to fit VR so no need to rescale or change the fonts to fit VR. Text is completely readible. Motion controls: That's right, his version makes use of full motion controls. -You hit with your sword to attack -aim, pull and release for arrows -visible hands in game -He has greated multiple profiles already to fit different VR headsets and control schemes It still have some kinks to be worked out, such as the cinematics playing upside down and some flickering when moving around, but this is small compared to what is already being offered. Personally, there is every reason to be excited about this, and if you have VR check out the version he has released already. His profile on gitlab: https://gitlab.com/madsbuvi [link] [comments]

Posted: 23 Nov 2020 10:45 AM PST Hi! I've been listening to Fudgemuppet's podcast recently and I'm becoming really interested in playing Morrowind. I've seen that there are some guides right here but I was wondering if they are good for what I want to achieve (or up to date): I want to experience the game as Vanilla as possible, but counting with the mandatory fixes that will make it a more enjoyable experience (like unofficial patch for bugfixes, or something that changes the combat system, as I've seen that it works weirdly, like hitting the enemies but not actually hitting the enemies). Any suggestions, guides I could follow and/or must have mods that I should install? Thank you! [link] [comments]
Posted: 23 Nov 2020 02:25 PM PST Balmora, First Month. En-hedu-anna of Ur to Sotha Sil of Vvardenfell. I am E-hedu-anna of the city of Ur. Those who came after me think I died a natural death and was buried in a tomb in Sumer. They know nothing. I cannot explain how I came to be in this strange land, with its mix of the alien and the familiar. I could tell you, Sil, of my great city. When I first arrived on Vvardenfell, I would have told you that you had never seen its like; but here, on this strange island, in this strange world (for I am by now convinced that I am far beyond the reach of any mortal king, beyond even the realms of the gods), I have seen things which defy description. I know of your sacred City of Clockwork, which you reveal only to the worthy. I know also, that I am not yet worthy. But I digress. I have now been on Vvardenfell so long that its ash, its insect shells, its wild religion, have grown to be my home, although I shall never become used to mushroom towers. Ur seems not only another world, but a previous life. Yet my exploits here in your world are nothing new, Sil: I have always been called to religion and politics. In Ur, I served as high priestess to Inanna. It was a diplomatic post as much as a religious one. Mine was the task of bringing together the gods of Akkad and Sumer; of making the old Sumerians see the truth and reason in the fact that though the gods may take different names and wear different faces, they are ultimately the same. I enjoyed the favour of my goddess and of the king of the whole known world. How far away and insignificant that world seems, now. Ur was a magnificent city, equal only to Vivec or Mournhold or your great City of Clockwork, and tis temple district was most magnificent of all. The gardens of Ur, Sil, are unlike anything in your world. The ash and the distortion from the Heart of the World render them impossible here. In front of the Great Ziggurat there was a garden, and at the centre of that garden a rectangular pond, surrounded by rows of date palms. One night I was alone in the garden and there were stars in that pond, so many stars. There were many more stars in the pond than there were to be reflected in the night sky. It glowed and swirled not like water, but like the stars swirl through the astronomer's lens. I stepped forward and fell into the pool, encountering not water but air, and warmth, and a deep sensation of finally coming home. Later, among the many wonders of Vvardenfell, I was shown mirrors that see into other worlds the way a window can look out onto a garden, and there I learned the name of the gateway I had stepped through: Star Fissure. Your friend, Divayth, taught me that name, and told me he had heard it in another world, a world now destroyed. Divayth told me that the men of that destroyed world had said that a Star Fissure is "as hospitable to life as a flowing river". I can confirm: traversing the emptiness in the Star Fissure, I felt I learned what home was for the first time. [link] [comments]

Mod which passively reduces the weight of worn armour? Posted: 23 Nov 2020 09:19 AM PST I'm wondering if there's a mod out there which passively reduces the weight of armour when its worn? Similar to one of Skyrim's perks. Specifically I'm thinking the implementation would either be a feather effect which checks the weight of worn armour and is applied at a fraction of the weight. Or something more complex which actively changes the weight of the individual items. In any case MWSE seems like it would be required. This is coming from me coming back to the game and deciding to play a Heavy Armour character with the Ashfall mod (lugging around all that armour, and camping supplies doesn't leave much room for Potions and other junk...). Using a laptop to run Morrowind? Posted: 23 Nov 2020 06:13 AM PST I've been playing Morrowind using backwards compatibility on my Xbox one but I've heard Morrowind on a pc is much better and wanted to know if an Hp envy x360 is good enough to run it vanilla and maybe even with some mods that can fix some bugs. Thanks in advance hp envy x360 specs [link] [comments] |
