This is why I love this game. Long, but hopefully relatable. Posted: 27 Apr 2020 10:38 AM PDT Level 5, just did the Mage's Guild trip to Punabi and Sulipund. From there I went on through the Ashlands to the east just exploring and getting into trouble. As an Altmer I don't bother carrying any form of Cure Disease because getting common disease is so rare I actually have to cast Weakness to Common Disease on myself if I want to become a vampire. And I wasn't carrying anything to cure blight because I hadn't planned on going off the beaten path, it was a spur of the moment thing. After various misadventures I get attacked by a rat and a kagouti and end up getting both blight and a common disease. My strength is down to 3 and my intelligence is also down near zero so I don't have the magicka to cast Recall or Intervention. Not that Recall would help much right now anyway. My default Recall spot if I don't need it for anything else is the plaza in front of the Mage's Guild in Balmora, but earlier on this trip I'd reset it to a tomb with a couple of Skeleton Champions I wanted to deal with later after stocking up on potions. Oops. The other problem is that I'm carry a lot of stuff. Enough that I really, really don't want to have to drop it all and pick it back up again later. I look at my notes on the local map and see that I'm pretty close to an ancestral tomb with a shrine. I have exactly one Sujamma on hand to fortify strength enough to move. And even though I've just cleared the tomb, the game respawns the guardians as soon as you leave so I know I have to get past two Bonewalkers to get to the shrine. This could get interesting. For weapons I have the Fiend Tanto and the iron shardaxe from the tree stump in Seyda Neen. I normally use summoned weapons but that won't be an option after I take the sujamma since between that and the blight my intelligence will be zero. So, here goes . . . first I summon bound battleaxe for 60 seconds, which takes several tries because I'm stupid(er) now and several restore magicka potions because each attempt takes most of my single digit magicka pool. Finally succeed, take a homebrew Restore Stamina potion that's good for 79 seconds, chug sujamma, and run for the shrine. Back down the path, into the tomb, barely survive the Bonewalkers, and then the sujamma runs out while I'm still across the room from the shrine. God damn it, I do not want to have to drop the endless amount of shit I'm carrying just to walk 20 feet. But wait . . . I have a 1 point telekinesis spell I made to train up Alteration. Give it a try and YES! I can reach the shrine. A few donations later and my mind and body are restored along with full magicka thanks to Atronach. A very satisfying outcome thanks to me being too lazy to empty my inventory, and thanks to Morrowind's incredibly deep RPG mechanics. No other game comes close. [link] [comments]
Looking to make TES3MP more challenging Posted: 28 Apr 2020 02:53 AM PDT I'm interested in ideas to make the game more challenging and interesting. Either mods or ideas so that I can make a mod myself. I would probably prefer simpler changes and also making a mod myself. My main concerns are getting too strong too quickly. By the time I can make any interesting spells with my mage characters my friend is already too OP and can face tank most enemies and kill even the strongest foes in a couple of hits. So I was thinking of some alternate leveling systems, maybe something with diminishing returns. Like taking more and more skill ups to level. We're playing at the highest difficulty but I'm not certain if that increases enemy HP because most normal enemies die very fast even at the start of the game. Maybe most weapons are too strong? I would also like to limit cheesy leveling, like training your skills or having acrobatics or alchemy as majors. And maybe limit how much gold you get from everything you find. You visit one daedric shrine and suddenly you have items worth 10 000+. If you have other ideas or suggestions I would be happy to hear it. Maybe discuss possible modding solutions.[link] [comments]

Training topic moved in the dialogue box. Posted: 27 Apr 2020 11:56 PM PDT After talking to someone and having them mention training in blue text, the "Training" option moved out from the little group with Persuasion and Barter. I'm using code patch, patch for purists, and the FMI mods. This issue still happens even if I remove everything and reload a save from when I only had the code patch installed. So that makes me think it's either code patch doing it or it's a vanilla bug / intended feature. Is there anything I can do to fix it or do I just gotta suffer it? [link] [comments]

Posted: 28 Apr 2020 02:03 AM PDT I had a bug that caused all the guards outdoors to be naked. I've fixed it now but let me tell you something. All the guards doing their job in their underwear makes them look silly. But the worst were Ordinators. They had their entire intimidating presence and authority literally stripped of them. That Indoril armor has great stats, but it also gives +40 to respect [link] [comments]

Posted: 28 Apr 2020 01:09 AM PDT After watching Strat-edgy's video I decided to give Morrowind another try. I remembered having fun last time I played and don't remember why I stopped so I installed it again. Boy am I glad I did. I decided to play a high elf mage with the atronach birthsign because what's the point of playing the Elder Scrolls game with the best magic system if you're not going to use it. Of course, I went into alchemy because of the need for health and magicka potions and money. I grinded health potions in the Balmora temple till my skill was ~70 and then did some mage guild and Telvanni quests for fun until I finally decided to use the super potion exploit to become an alchemy god. OH MY GOD! IT'S SO FUN! After boosting my Intelligence up to 52k I realized I could add wickwheat to my Ash Yam and bloat potion to make a Fortify Willpower and Intelligence potion. Now I can cast whatever spell I want whenever I want since Willpower effects spell chance and it's amazing! I feel like a god! [link] [comments]

Posted: 27 Apr 2020 01:40 PM PDT I have been playing Morrowind for the better part of 10 years and feel like I havent even broken through the surface of what this game has to offer so im asking for some direction by asking yall to respond to one question: What is your favorite quest (non main quest or DLC main quests) in Morrowind? Feel free to go into detail and explain why: I not only want to know what to persue next but what other players love. [link] [comments] |
