Is another Elder Scrolls game as complex as Morrowind even feasible? Posted: 11 Apr 2020 11:32 PM PDT The biggest reason Oblivion and Skyrim simply couldn't have been as complex as Morrowind was that the majority of the dialogue was spoken. Morrowind's dialogue was almost entirely conveyed through text. This allowed for more dialogue options, more lengthy responses from NPCs, and more detailed explinations for what you're supposed to do. Voice acting is both expensive and time consuming. If every bit of dialogue from Morrowind was spoken, it would have massively inflated the cost of production. The thing is, I don't think Bethesda can go back to having no voice acting. It's a big blockbuster franchise now and there are certain expectations for games of that scope to have - voice acting being one of them. [link] [comments]

Posted: 11 Apr 2020 11:28 PM PDT I made an animated main menu inspired by oblivion with loading screens to go with it. The map is made by Deloto51. Check it out here: https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/47798?tab=description [link] [comments]
Posted: 11 Apr 2020 03:46 AM PDT Kind of exploring Caldera for the first time. I hear the bartender recount on the orc running through town earlier. Find the orc thief hiding from guards outside town, give a letter to a friend of his. Find out through a letter that the altmer clothier and bar keep are very close friends. god I just love the little lore everywhere [link] [comments]

Fastest way to check ESPs for errors that OpenMW doesn't like? Posted: 11 Apr 2020 10:23 PM PDT I want to use OpenMW but I'm afraid some of my favorite mods that are quite old may not work after I've already sunk some time into the game. I've never edited ESPs before but from what I understand most if not all of the mod incompatibilities with OpenMW are from dirty syntax errors in ESPs such as ending a line with comma ( , ) instead of the proper semicolon ( ; ). Can I remedy this with the construction set alone? Is there anything else I may need to know? Thanks guys. [link] [comments]

Caldera Mine Expanded mod - Where is the Lucky Pickaxe? Posted: 11 Apr 2020 12:57 PM PDT Please, if anybody has played this mod and knows where I can find Khazura's Lucky Pickaxe, tell me where it is. I've been looking for it for hours. [link] [comments]
MGE Gui won't run on Windows 10 Posted: 11 Apr 2020 02:10 PM PDT This is beyond frustrating. Until recently I was running Morrowind on a Windows Vista setup I had for legacy gaming and this is my first time setting up the game on Win 10. The game itself runs fine, the MGE installer runs fine, but MGE itself does nothing. When I run as admin I get a UAC popup asking if I want to process, click yes, the mouse cursor does the little blue "hold on" circle for half a second and then nothing. No error message, nothing happens at all. I've installed the June 2010 directx and tried all the compatibility modes, no change. I have both the Steam and GOG versions installed, same thing with both. [link] [comments]
