Lore question about some info I read from one of the in-game books

    Posted: 03 Feb 2020 07:19 PM PST

I've played a lot of Skyrim, a little Oblivion, a little Daggerfall and Arena, a decent amount of ESO, and have recently started this game for the first time. I'm enjoying being able to learn more about the world and Vvardenfell/Morrowind. My question is about a book I read that said the 3 human gods (the Tribunal) have alternate personas or something like that. And these alternate personas are actually the daedric princes (I think Mephala, Boethiah, and I forgot the other one. Molag Bal?) Now, I've read plenty about these princes and encountered them many times in the other Elder scrolls titles I've played, but I never knew about this and find it really interesting. However, what does this mean exactly? For instance, does Sothal Sil and his daedric counterpart occupy the same vessel but technically live two different existences simultaneously or something like that? Same with Almalexia (I hope I'm spelling that right) and Vivec. Or is there something else going on here? Thanks!

After playing my modded PC version for 100 hours, I've started a playthrough on Xbox. And I've got to say...

    Posted: 03 Feb 2020 01:24 PM PST

I... Kinda love it? I expected to play it for about 30 minutes, just to see what it's like for novelty's sake. 5 hours later I'm lost trying to find the Mark and Recall vendors in Vivec.

There's just something about the console version that is so cozy and charming that I can look past the horrendous render distance that nearly induces feelings of claustrophobia, the lack of anti-aliasing and the load times. Being able to just sit back on my couch with a controller in my hands with the OST blaring out of my CRT speakers is worth putting up with the faults of the console port and lack of mods. (And yes, I know you can get a similar setup on PC if you put in enough work. I don't care. That's not practical for me.)

Speaking of mods, it's actually really refreshing to be essentially forced to play vanilla again. I actually appreciate mods that have been standard in my load order again, and it reminds me that I love this game without needing to mod it.

TLDR: PC gamer tries Xbox port of Morrowind expecting to laugh at it and ends up loving it. The quality of Morrowind transcends console port downgrade.

About to start Morrowind for the first time... what is your favorite moment or character?

    Posted: 03 Feb 2020 03:54 PM PST

As the title said, I'm about to start morrowind for the first time. I'm aware of the series having played skyrim and oblivion but never played ES3.

To get into the mood, I want to hear everyone's favorite moment or characters they've created! I'm not too concerned with spoilers since the game is so old so no holding back!

Would anyone have ideas for building a stealth-based Imperial?

    Posted: 03 Feb 2020 05:24 AM PST

I'm thinking of going The Lady star sign and getting Agility and Luck as favoured attributes, then building up Agility as fast as possible while maxing personality as fast as possible. I was thinking that the character would use Light armor (may be Unarmoured) and know a few illusion spells to help with the stealth. I have a few rough ideas on how I would build this character, but does anyone have any more ideas?

On the lack of Children in VVardenfell

    Posted: 03 Feb 2020 09:49 AM PST

So while playing the other day I was in an ashlander camp and they mentioned something about the imperials burning their yurts and killing their children.

This kind of offers an in game explanation for no kids, Vvardenfell is a capitalist venture colony, no kids allowed for any imperials or great houses. Kind of like you wouldn't bring kids to a oil rig in the Middle East.

The Ashlanders are in a lot worse shape than I realized. There camps are probably a lot smaller than they once were and they could be the last ones alive after an imperial massacre.

Character wont stop teleportating to Census Office on save load

    Posted: 03 Feb 2020 12:11 PM PST

Every time I save and reload a save my character is teleported to the Census office in Seyda Neen. My character doesnt change in anyway but it's teleported to the front door of the Census Office every time a load any of my saves. I've worked around it with a mark and recall spell before I save but its very annoying.

Looking for voice mod to fill the void in my life

    Posted: 03 Feb 2020 10:22 AM PST

Jokes asides I'm not super mod savey but I can make due with that said moving on. morrwind just went on sale for like $4 on steam so I grabbed it. iv found a lot of great mods to bring the game up to date as much as I can but one thing I'm missing that makes all that lore easier to take in is a good voice over mod. iv seen a few that use PC voices but don't want to mess with adding every one I find only to take it out and try another all while play hell on my save files. So is there a good voice mod worth using

So... I dunno what to do x)

    Posted: 03 Feb 2020 07:34 AM PST

I recently decided to play TES3 and I'm at the really start, trying to get along with the mages guild in Balmora... I now need to go to Punabi. In order to do so, Ive been told I have to cross the old Dwemmer bridge, but there's a mage on it who just beat the shit outta me... Am I supposed to do something else before that ??
