How should I play the DLC to reach ultimate immersion? Before or after the main story?

I ask because when I first played The Witcher 3 with DLCs installed, I started Blood and Wine before finishing the Main Story and then they started talking about the main story as if I already did it. Suffice to say my immersion levels were not pleased.

Is there any downside to spamming rests?

Whenever I'm exploring a dungeon or something, especially at low levels, I tend to rest for 2 to 4 days after each major monster encounter, to heal and recharge my enchantments.

Is there any downside to this, aside from it being kinda silly and immersion braking? I also rarely sleep at inn's, since resting just outside of town is free and hardly ever actually poses a threat.

Just curious what other player's in-game sleeping habits are.

I have looked online and there were not really any solutions so was just wondering if you guys knew anything about this. I do have the latest version of MGE XE and MCP installed it that helps, and people online talked about AMD cards being buggy which I do have but they didn't provide a solution. Thanks guys

Here is my build

Fighters guild kinda seems possible but theres the whole not being a paid brute thing . Also the imperial cult because he is on good terms with Nenneke although he doesn't believe in their gods . What else should I do . Currently I am just roaming around clearing caves , no quests to do :(
