Morrowind I finally killed the final boss. It was really hard and took many tries but I'm very proud of myself. That game is super short though.

I want to try the Conjuration school, will not having it set as a major/minor skill set me back?

    Posted: 14 Nov 2019 08:30 AM PST

I'm on my first serious playthrough:

    Dunmer Male:

Major: Long Blades Restoration Mysticism Alteration Marksman

Minor: Block Destruction Light Armor Alchemy Enchanting

Should my leveling stat incentives from the other magic schools compensate for my lack of specialization in Conjuration? I think my only drawback should be that I'll have to pay for 10-20 levels of training and that leveling it up will be slower.

    Is my understanding correct?

Can't find anything that suits my taste, want to keep it simple but with high quality textures.

    Any suggestions are appreciated!

Is marksman and hand to hand a good combo?

    Posted: 14 Nov 2019 11:24 AM PST

I'm new to morrowind I'm on my first play through. I want to know if the two skills will work well together.

I'm rewatching The Sopranos until completion in a biannual binge. I'd like to coincide that with my recent purchase of an XBox1 and roleplay a character in Morrowind adapted etc. Help me combine the greatest TV show ever with the greatest game ever and flesh out a character.

What's a good and simple build for a first timer?

    Posted: 14 Nov 2019 11:29 AM PST

And don't say "play what you like". I do plan to play a character I like in future but right now I just want to make a simple build in which I can complete the game.

Which role stand out in Morrowind

    Posted: 14 Nov 2019 05:43 PM PST

My brother once told me every Elder Scrolls has its own hard point -at roles or way to play the game-, and Skyrim one -according with him- is the role of warrior. So, which role is the one who stand out in Morrowind?

Any mods that make Magick (and it's mention by NPCs) significantly more rare?

    Posted: 14 Nov 2019 04:14 PM PST

So, like... I'm not sure about anyone else and im well aware of the lore-based prevalence of the use of Magick in Tamriel, but, honestly, I just want a world where it's like... Very, very, very rare.

Like a more "hard" fantasy experience. In my opinion, doing the setting this way makes magic more impactful and meaningful when we do see it and when we are able to eventually master it. Like one of the coolest things about Morrowind, to me, is how it builds it's sense of mysticism off of eastern religious legends - Vivec floating with his legs crossed and meditating - that's imagery that's, like... It's present in some real religious philosophies around the world. I know Vivec is technically the bad guy in Morrowind, that's not my point, he's just an example of the coolness factor that should be a part of a demi-God like he is, and a big part in aiding in that sense of mysticism is the lack of common knowledge of the magic needed to accomplish it.

I installed Morrowind today for the first time in over 10 years. I played through the introduction, loved it, but I was bothered by already being introduced to Magick. Like there's Magick on the character creation screen, the powers you get. There's a magic ring in one of the crates that restores health. And it's just like... You know... Pull the brakes here, lol. Magic should be so rare that mages should inhabit only takes of legend of local townsfolk, and things like the Mage's Guild should be secretive Illuminati organizations that are extremely distrusting, not like town clubs like the Fighters Guild etc.

Like... There shouldn't even be a Magicka bar on the lower left if you don't know how to cast a spell.

Anyways ... The last time I expressed the desire for this type of game and world design I was... Not understood and downvoted. If there's no mod for it, this can atleast be a place to discuss what I said.

Why does House Redoran let the Nerevarine (or any outlander) advance to Archmaster?

    Posted: 14 Nov 2019 11:33 AM PST

From what I understand, House Redoran is the most "traditional" of the Great Houses the player can join. I know the other two are more lax (either because of mercantile or magic reasons), but I'm not sure I follow the reasoning for Redoran to let an outlander join.

Is there any mod which removes the game's frustrating features?

    Posted: 14 Nov 2019 10:38 AM PST

I want to like Morrowind, I really do, but the mechanics are way too bad. You miss a lot, Stamina runs out too fast, Cliff Racers attack every two seconds. I love the story so far and I'm sure it'll only become better but everything else is just frustrating.

I'm pretty sure I can do the alchemy glitch to not miss anymore but I don't really want to cheat.

    Help with Mod choices

    Posted: 14 Nov 2019 03:19 PM PST

I've never played morrowind on PC but I just convinced my dad to download it on steam. I explained to him the outdated graphics but that there are plenty of mods to help with various areas. My question here is could you all recommend a few mods for my dad that would make the game more pleasing to him? Or, at the very least, point me to a website with a good list. Graphic upgrade is the most important but other things like friendlier UI, player home, and maybe a cool extra quest or two would help. Also, he plans to join and focus on imperial legion so anything relating to that would be great.

TL;DR: dad's first time playing, need mods to make his experience great.
