A guide for the essential mods you should install for your first Morrowind playthrough by u/Rytelier Posted: 21 Aug 2020 01:16 PM PDT Do NOT install MGSO, it's outdated, buggy and unstable. Do NOT play Rebirth if it's you first playthrough, it changes a lot and opinions on it are varied. MGE XE https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/41102 Graphics extender, adds shaders, distant land, new water. MCP https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/19510 Fixes game bugs, improves stability and performance Optimization patch https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/45384 Optimizes a lot of meshes greatly improving performance Project Atlas https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/45399 Further improves performance by combining meshes Patch for Purists https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/45096 Fixes a lot of game's bugs (damn Bethesda never changes) MWSE 2.1 http://nullcascade.com/mwse/mwse-dev.zip Script extender, adds new scripting language and enables fancy mods These are essentials and you can enjoy a vanilla playthough. More goodies: UI Expansion https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/46071 Improves interface, adds filters, search Glow in the Dahrk https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/45886 Windows glow Aesthesia Groundcover https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/46377 Adds vanilla friendly grass (my mod :) ) Enhanced Textures https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/46221 Vanilla textures upscaled by AI Happy Harvesting https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/45627 Gathering ingredients not more painful Easy Escort https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/45712 Escort missions no more annoying [link] [comments]

Hey guys, I'm new to Morrowind Posted: 21 Aug 2020 11:31 PM PDT Hey yall, new to the game and need help. Yes, I downloaded it on my phone, but it's because i have no pc (situation that has been going on for almost a year now) and I have intent to buy it when I'll get it back, or for XBox (whatever comes first). Anyways, I just downloaded the game and I'm making a playthrough as an agility based thief, with short blades and stealth. I'm mostly looking for build advice, not for game breaking stuff (I didnt pick alchemy or destruction on purpose for that), just a build to not suck major dick in fight. Playing as a dark elf, as I'm doing a full immersion run. Any help is welcome, I know just the basics of the game, thanks in advance [link] [comments]
Any good graphics mods that work on OpenMW Mac? Posted: 21 Aug 2020 04:35 PM PDT I'm getting morrowind for mac with OpenMW, and since many graphics mods need MGE XE it's hard to find good ones. Are there any good texture, draw distance, or lighting mods that would work on mac with OpenMW? [link] [comments]

Morrowind in distinct Roleplay Runs Posted: 21 Aug 2020 02:07 PM PDT I first played Morrowind 10ish years ago, just a couple runs as cheesed-out as I could be. I picked it up again last year and wanted each run to have distinct role-play restrictions to make the experience more dramatic, authentic, and challenging. Here are summaries of the runs. The Illiterate Barbarian This female Redguard was largely based on Conan, but illiterate. I read nothing! I learned no spells, cast no spells, made no custom items, and only used magic items that I found. I mostly charged everything with a longsword, or shot things with a bow. I used lockpicking instead of an open spell, and stealth instead of invisibility. House Redoran, Fighter's Guild, and Thieves Guild. I joined the Imperial Legion, but my advancement was stopped at the quest that requires reading a mine ledger! The only point I fudged was the librarian's note (I got someone to read it to me?) because I thought it may have been necessary to trigger her being in her cell. Still an easy run. Easy to find powerful longswords and a couple levitation items. The Monk Imperial loyalist monk, but the challenge was to never use weapons or armor. I just wore clothes and punched everything. Without any weapon or armor skills, I could not join several factions. I did join the Mage Guild and Imperial Cult and House Hlaalu (they are stooges for the Empire). I rescued a lot of slaves and wiped out a lot of slave owners. Custom enchanted clothing actually goes a long way. The Pariah Female Half-Orc battlemage who never increased Personality, so it stayed at 25, AND NEVER JOINED ANY FACTIONS. Not even the Blades. This was the hardest run. No one wanted to talk to me. It was difficult to scrape together the 20 reputation I needed for the back path from the handful of quests that did not require any faction membership. Axes and Medium Armor like a good half-orc should. The Dunmer Supremecist Female Dunmer powermage. House Telvanni, Morag Tong, Tribunal Temple. Fought for the purity of native Vvardenfell from outsider interference. I really wish there had been more writing to include options for this build, like siding with Dagoth Ur or overthrowing Duke Dren to let his brother gain power. I killed lots of slaves and Imperials, and it was disappointing how much I was still ostracized and attacked by Ashlanders and other locals. The Escaped Slave Male Khajiit thief. I actually abandoned this run before finishing because it was so similar to the Monk run that I wasn't getting a novel experience. Hand-to-Hand, Imperial Cult, Thieves and Mage Guild, House Hlaalu. Freed lots of slaves and killed lots of slavers. Of course I had to get my girlfriend in Peliagad. I also toyed with a Robinhood-type Wood Elf, but again it was too similar. I really liked the Khajiit H2H animation. The Cheese Finally, just to have an overpowered character to blow through the expansions, I made a Breton Atronach mage who abused alchemy. Skipped a lot of the role-playing. Telvanni, both religions, Mage Guild, East Empire Company. Whatever it takes to get powered and dominate. I really enjoyed the variety available in Morrowind, even though it feels like the game development got cut short. I know there are mods and Tamriel Rebuilt that I may eventually get to. I just finished Arena last week and I'm working on Daggerfall before moving on to Oblivion. This is a good series with a strong world and fanbase. I am sure you all have your own favorite character run that let the game shine more by what was restricted. [link] [comments]

Follower Friendly portable player home mods suggestions? Posted: 21 Aug 2020 07:25 PM PDT I'm looking for suggestions for player home mods that work with OpenMW on Android, and it needs to be something I can take a companion into and access from just about anywhere. Either by carrying it around or teleport access. Preferably an as close to lore friendly as possible simple player house. Character build is a female Telvanni Mage playthrough. Basically want access to a safe place to get drunk, take a sleep and recover with Julan from the Julan Ashlander mod at nights after we get done beating the crap out of endless Cliff Racers and Dagoth Ur's minions during the day. I've seen a few cool tent and Ashlander yurt mods but the ones I've seen won't let me take a buddy in with me. Can't leave the companions out in a blight storm! [link] [comments] |
