Morrowind's story written-out: The Nerevarine Prophecies - Part One: A Short Prologue Posted: 01 May 2020 11:21 AM PDT Along with replaying Morrowind I decided to write out the story as if it were a book. Although in a rather summary fashion that expects you to have some familiarity with the setting. Besides the Nerevarine there will also be chapters centered around other characters, e.g. Caius Cosades. If posts like these are allowed on here I will post new chapters at least weekly. Hopefully it wil give you all something to look forward to these days. I already have drafts of the next six chapters finished so it should be able to keep a schedule. Please feel free to give feedback, both positive and negative, so that I can keep it in mind with how next chapters will go. Enjoy. The Nerevarine propheciesPrologue The Imperial City 2nd day of Sun's Height, 3E 427 It was long after dawn and all around the city dubious characters began to enter the fray, like foxes leaving their holes. Ready for a night of shady dealings and dishonest scheming. In a sense even the imperial palace sprang to life. Although its players held loftier goals in mind. Tonight, in lavish quarters, a true chessmaster was at work, participating in a game of daedra and gods alike. Something creaked when that old man shifted in his chair. He read on, his mind firmly denying the truth of brittle bones even while his hands trembled. This was the news he had been waiting for, another piece entering the board. Time, however, he severely lacked. Emperor Uriel Septim VII slowly got up and tried to walk off the nerves. This would have to be one of his final great plots. I cannot burden my sons with this. He called for a servant to bring in Ocato and sunk back into his cushioned chair. Shortly thereafter the elf entered wearing his typical all-knowing smile. His bow was impeccable. "Please sit down, chancellor. We have much to discuss." Ocato sat down, took one of his many scrolls and immediately began talking: "I see, emperor. The rumors in the city are growing louder indeed. Some are even openly questio-" Uriel raised his hand. "No Ocato, these matters can wait. I believe we have finally found our Nerevarine." The chancellor frowned: "Doubtful. My sources haven't spoken of a viable candidate in decades." "As is to be expected. Ours has never set foot in Vvardenfell before." "You make it sound as if you raised the Nerevarine from scratch. Could this really fulfill a prophecy?" "Of course, should the Dunmer decide so. There is still a lot of work to be done." Yes, this could be the answer to a lot of problems. Molag Mar 11th day of Sun's Height, 3E 427 "And your sources are credible?" Galdal Omayn wondered wearily. "I believe so, grand marshal. They agree with the reports from the Indaram brothers earlier this year.", spoke the messenger. Galdal sighed and waved him away.… ash creatures rising in numbers... corprus getting ever more prominent... more sixth house bases discovered. The report read as an impending avalanche. She could only hope that her buoyant armigers would rise to the challenge once more. Though truth be told they had not been able to effectively crusade against the sixth house for a while now. Even getting close to the dwemer ruins within the ghostfence has proved nearly impossible. While a few mages had tried to investigate them not too long ago, none of them ever returned. With this in mind, to Galdal the message only confirmed the dire situation they found themselves in. And to think the Indaram reports were deemed exaggerated. She rubbed her temples and sat down to write a letter of her own. The temple needed to know about this, Vivec himself needed to know about this. Most of all they needed to take it seriously and help her do something about it. Perhaps I should send a messenger with it, she thought as she remembered the priests' slow administration. Posted: 01 May 2020 11:22 PM PDT I read somewhere that nords cannot contract vampirism in ES 3 morrowind. Is there truth to this ? [link] [comments]
Posted: 01 May 2020 10:03 PM PDT I was thinking about getting into morrowind (alongside oblivion) because I LOVE skyrim and TES as a whole. I have always thought that I do not care about graphics AND THAT REIGNS TRUE, but my one problem with morrowind is the FOG. The white fog is terrible, you can SEE the parts loading in. I usually don't care about graphics, my ownly complaint is the fog. But I don't want to install mods to fix it. When I play older games like these I like to experience the game as it was during the time period, maybe later I can install mods but not when i'm introducing myself to the game, I feel like i'm missing out on something if I do that... How can I solve this? [link] [comments]

Posted: 01 May 2020 08:39 PM PDT For some reason, my speed has been permanently fortified. I was using the Blinding Boots of Speed, and took them off to try another pair of boots. However, I noticed that my speed stat was red, indicating that it had been lowered. I thought, no biggy, I'll just chug some Restore Speed potions. The potions "restored" my speed all the way to 104. And even then it was still red. When I put on the Blinding Boots again, my speed is now 304, ~100 points coming out of nowhere. Is this some sort of glitch? [link] [comments]
Posted: 01 May 2020 07:36 PM PDT So, basically, I tried to install the following: https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/42262?tab=files&file_id=90673 and https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/43540?tab=files&file_id=1000003553 Both of them gave me a ton of messages saying "failed to load x" To clarify, I think I installed the requirements for it. I got better bodies mod and Better heads. Any idea my dudes? Thanks for the support. [link] [comments] |
