What mods do y'all recommend? Where do y'all get your mods? Other than Nexus.

I'm aware of an unofficial patch that I hear is important, and I want to keep the game true to itself, but I don't spend a lot of time looking at Morrowind mods and would greatly appreciate any suggestions.

Should the Constant Effect Glitch Be Patched in OpenMW?

    Posted: 13 Nov 2019 05:51 PM PST

So I was playing Morrowind on my android when I found out about the glitch that lets you cast spells that last forever. I tried it, but no matter what I did it never seemed to work, so I'm assuming it's either been patched or I'm just doing it wrong.

Regardless, I'm still curious about where you all stand on whether or not this glitch should be patched, or if it should be left in intentionally.

    Area of Effect

    Posted: 13 Nov 2019 08:26 AM PST

Stupid question: Do spells effects cast by yourself or friendlies cause damage to friendlies/self if you are in the area of effect?

Is lag at the Dren Plantation normal and is there anyway to stop it?

    Mage Pure in Morrowind Vanilla

    Posted: 13 Nov 2019 05:45 AM PST

I'm gonna play like a Pure Mage in Morrowind Vanilla. Any tips before start? I know we cannot regenerate magic, but I also want to try because it can be fun.

Getting my head straight in regards to the different mod options.

    Posted: 13 Nov 2019 05:27 AM PST

So, I guess you could consider me a newcomer (outlander! lol) because I'm returning to Morrowind. But first, a quick introductory paragraph about some of my thoughts regarding that return... Skip the next paragraph if you don't care.

I once made a post on this subreddit that lasted only a few minutes before I deleted it called "Returning to childhood interests or doomed to a life of stagnation?" and it's basic gist was that I've recognized in me the strong apathy towards new, modern games and as such I've been returning to the "good old days" when games were actually good. Like Morrowind. Now I can see a future where I literally do not ever participate in the current entertainment market and only ever delve into the very specific things I actually care about. Morrowind and my other interests have enough material that they could literally keep me occupied for the rest of my life, and I'd be fine with that. It's a weird realization. Anyways...

    On to the modding.

Since I'm new to the modding scene I am still not very familiar with it, and a lot of these projects have confusing names. Project Tamriel, for example, started off with the goal of remaking the rest of Tamriel in Morrowind, but then soon realized that'd be too ambitious of a goal and so scaled it back just to the mainland province of Morrowind. I plan on installing this mod and hopefully I will be able to contribute to it as well in the near future.

Next is - I'm fairly certain that I want to play Morrowind through OpenMW, but I don't know which mods are actually compatible with it. This is another modding direction I could see myself going: just taking mods that I want to play on OpenMW engine and asking their author's if I can tinker with them to make them compatible, lol. So, I basically have to scour Nexus Mods to find the mods I want and see if they're compatible with OpenMW.

Other projects, like Morrowind Rebirth and Tamriel , have very similar names to eachother. And there are multiple mods that are supposed to do the same thing, like texture mods and bug fixing mods. Like do I go Patch for Purists or... The other one. So it feels like looking at a box of Legos and all the blue ones go together and all the red ones go together but they're all jumbled up on the floor and you can't see the structure they make. It feels overwhelming.

And then there's compatibility with eachother, not just with the engine. It seems too difficult to know if everything will be compatible before you run into problems in your playthrough, and I'd prefer to get everything working silky smooth before I start my playthrough. Lol. Take, uhh... A mod called Better Almalexia, for example. It says it won't conflict with other mods that change Almalexia, but I doubt that. How would I know that it didn't conflict with, say, Morrowind Enhanced Textures?

So this post doesn't have a direct question, it's more of just a... These are the whims of someone who's trying to do this right.

    Thanks for reading.

Is there a mod out there that supplies more immersive dialogue choices?

    Posted: 12 Nov 2019 09:54 AM PST

I'm sick of literally everyone I talk to knowing about Solstheim and the boat from Khuul.

I know it's super minor, but it's so odd lol. An ordinator will tell me to fuck off if I ask him about the very canton I'm standing in but is more than happy to tell me about the argonian I'm looking for.

Just wondering if there was a mod that kinda cleaned up some of the dialogue options NPC's have.
